Range Rover Velar review – Britain's best-looking SUV comes at a price
The Velar was conceived to sit in the Range Rover line-up between the smaller Evoque and larger Range Rover Sport.
However, when you first clap eyes on it and note its sleek (for a large
SUV) styling and futuristic interior you might end up wondering if it
is in fact some kind of flagship to the range.
However, with prices starting from around £45,000 the Velar is very
much the second step up the Range Rover ladder on the way to the £60,000
Sport, although for that sum you make do with a 2.0-litre,
four-cylinder engine. Opt for a V6 instead and you are nearly up at
Sport prices, while the Velar range tops out at a little more than
£85,000. That same sum, for reference, will also buy one of the
company’s full fat, range-topping Range Rovers.
